Half-Year Mark for Carnival

It's the Sixth Edition of our Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse. I can hardly believe we've been participating in this important, awareness-raising carnival for six months now. It's been half a year already! Amazing! And so are all of you conscious blogger friends!

This month's host is Mike at
www.childabusesurvivor.net. Mike said this month was slow for contributions, but he's got 15 or 16 carnival participant posts up, with much significance and variety. I think he's done an excellent job as host. Please go check him out and check out the sixth edition here. Also, don't forget to use the links to visit the bloggers participating and leave your comments of support. There continues to be new bloggers joining us for this carnival every month--we want to make them feel welcome and appreciated. Thanks, all!

Hi Marj,

Do you have anyone to host the next Carnival? If not, I would be happy to do so.

My new blog is underway.....

http://postraumatic.blogspot.com.

Only 2 posts so far, but more are coming.

Best wishes to you and your family this holiday season!

WW

Thanks for all you do. I'm going to hyper link over here. Linda

WW: can't wait to see your new blog. Cool! Lisa at Sadly Normal is the host this month and I think I have a couple of other new hosts interested...but I'll put you down as the first "repeater," how 'bout that. Glad you're interested. Good luck with the new blog.

Wow, Linda, THANKS! :)

Marji
Thanks for all you do getting the stories out. You are the greatest!

Got a link for the carnival on my blog.

Thanks, Dr. Deb! I'll come on over and take a look at that.

And thanks, Wanda, for always being so supportive and encouraging. I appreciate it!

I am cutting and pasting a comment from Brian, leaving out a couple of blogger names that he mentions:

Hi Marj,

Since you have been away healing, you may not be aware of the personal attacks on me by .... and ..... after I posted about being a multiple. According to them, I am a big fat liar.

I have no idea why they are so threatened by my revelation, but I will not be coming by here or other survivor blogs to comment, nor will I participate in the Carnival again.

I do not feel safe any longer sharing my story but I wish you well in your journey.

(I cannot respond to any e-mails until this weekend, because our home keyboard is broken)

Sincerely Brian

To Brian and anyone else who may be reading this: I am really hurting right now. It's a difficult time for me, as I am still between therapists. I tried to look at these posts and comments, but it looks like some of it has been taken down. Maybe I'm glad I didn't see all of it. It sounds like a lot of hurt, and I'm just not in a place right now where I can take any more hurt. I didn't respond back to Brian's last e-mail, because he mentioned that it sounded like I needed to vent and that wasn't my intention--I figured he had enough on his plate right now.

I want to say that I've considered Brian a great contributor to the carnival. An e-mail to me mentioned an opinion that he shouldn't be participating. Let me just say this: I leave it up to the individual edition hosts to decide what goes into each month's carnival or not. What I do when the carnival is on my blog is just decide, post-by-post, what is appropriate or not. For instance, I had a submission that came in that was about a common childhood ailment, but it was not about child abuse at all, so I did not include it. I've also had some spam that, obviously, did not make it in.

I have always tried to strike a balance between making this blog a safe place, but also an awareness-raising space. I feel sad whenever anyone does not feel safe. I am truly sorry about that.
